2009- FAST began to develop a year-round 365/24/7 “virtual museum” website that complements and extends the 2-day County Fair exhibits where awards were made for three very short videos in technologies. FAST is a member of the Ecology Coalition of Morgan County, the Sleepy Creek Watershed Association and the Morgan County Chamber of Commerce.
2008– The Forum sponsored four informational meetings on broadband internet technology and home computer security issues. The Senior Life Services of Morgan County received another grant to add more computer-aided Wii activities to enhance daily healthy activity in their outreach program. Two awards were made for County Fair Exhibits related to technologies.
2007– The Forum sponsored meetings on broadband internet technology and an evening discussion on home computer security with Mike the Computer Guy. Another session co-sponsored with the Morgan County Library discussed how to use computers to access, examine and learn details of published Morgan County reports and how to access the West Virginia Code and other documents describing required local government procedures. FAST gave a grant to the Senior Life Services of Morgan County to add interactive computer-aided Wii activities to their outreach program to enhance daily healthy activity. 2006 – The Forum co-sponsored with the Morgan County Library a poster exhibit and a community evening discussion on how to use broadband internet technology to search, explore and learn details of the West Virginia Code and to access other documents about required local government procedures. FAST supported evening courses on home-based business “e-commerce” and website design plus meetings with the Morgan County Economic Development Authority and continued discussions of ways to bring high-speed internet access to dispersed households in the county. At the 2006 County Fair, FAST again collected dozens of signatures from households wanting broadband access. Future topics considered by FAST include technological aspects of static electric discharge, wireless communication, fluorescent lights and induction coil motors (developed by Tesla over 100 years ago) that are now involved in daily life of Morgan County residents.
2005 –The Forum co-sponsored with the Morgan County Economic Development Authority some community evening courses on home-based business “e-commerce” and website design plus meetings with local experts in computers and telecommunications to bring high-speed internet access to the County. The 2005 County Fair “Hands-On Room” had 25 exhibits made with donations and help from 29 volunteers. FAST collected signatures from households wanting broadband access. The Hands-On Room exhibits included wireless broadband, county geology, water resources and the ecology of local rivers and streams. FAST is a member of the Ecology Coalition, and it made travel awards for twelve students of the Wind Dance Farm to attend a Chesapeake Bay Camp and learn more about ecology.
2004– Lighted Speed Radar was acquired in 2004 with a one-time grant to Berkeley Springs. Broadband internet access was discussed with the Morgan County Economic Development Authority (B. Clark) while recruiting local experts in computers and telecommunications to consider ways to bring high-speed broadband internet access to dispersed households in this mountainous rural county.
